Does Boston Broadband require a contract?

No. Residential service is month to month, with no term commitment, no early termination fee and no introductory price that jumps at month thirteen.

No. Residential service is month to month. There is nothing to sign that locks you in for a year, and nothing to pay to leave.

Why the price does not move at month thirteen

The usual pattern elsewhere is a low rate for twelve months, an increase you did not agree to at month thirteen, and a phone call to threaten cancellation in order to get the old price back. That cycle is a consequence of promotional pricing, and we do not use promotional pricing. Our tiers are listed at one flat price and stay there.

That is the whole mechanism. It is not a promise never to change a price for any reason ever — it is that there is no scheduled expiry built into your rate, and no annual increase waiting for you.

Leaving, and coming back

Because there is no term, cancelling is an ordinary request rather than a negotiation — see how do I cancel my service?. If you are moving inside our footprint you may not need to cancel at all: I'm moving, can I take my service with me?.

Changing tiers is the same kind of request. You are not locked to the speed you started on — see how do I change my internet plan?.

Business and enterprise are different

Enterprise and dedicated internet access are contracted, and that is the point of them: the availability commitment, the remedies and the term are negotiated per customer rather than published. Does Boston Broadband offer an SLA? explains which tier gets one and which does not.
