We handle the network infrastructure layer and hand off to your AV/automation integrator with everything they need: VLAN design, static IPs, dedicated IoT segment, documented switch and rack layout. We coordinate directly with your integrator during planning so the network is ready on day one.
What Wi-Fi hardware do you use?
We deploy enterprise-grade access points and switching — typically Ubiquiti UniFi or equivalent — the same platforms used in hotels, medical facilities, and corporate offices. Consumer mesh systems like Eero or Google Nest are not designed for the density or coverage requirements of a large home with dozens of connected devices.
Can you cover an entire estate — including a carriage house, pool house, or guest cottage?
Yes. We design for the full property footprint. For detached structures we run fiber underground in conduit between buildings, then place access points inside each structure. Every building on your property gets the same wired-quality wireless performance.
What does network segmentation mean, and why does it matter for a smart home?
Segmentation divides your network into isolated zones — typically: personal devices (laptops, phones), IoT (thermostats, lighting, appliances), security cameras, guest Wi-Fi, and AV equipment. A vulnerability in a smart lock or camera cannot reach your personal computers or banking sessions. For large homes with 50–200+ connected devices, a flat unsegmented network is both a security risk and a performance problem.
How does this work with new construction or a major renovation?
We work with your architect, general contractor, and low-voltage electrician during the design phase to plan conduit runs, equipment closet location, in-wall cable paths, and access point placement. Doing this before walls close eliminates the cost and aesthetic compromise of surface-mounted cable trays later. We're happy to join an OAC meeting or provide a low-voltage spec sheet.
