How much does Boston Broadband cost?
Residential plans run from $30/mo to $300/mo, and that price is the whole bill unless you choose to rent our $10/mo Wi-Fi router.
Residential fiber runs from $30/mo to $300/mo depending on the speed tier, and the price you sign up at is the price you keep paying. There is no introductory rate, no bundling requirement and no equipment charge unless you ask for one.

Every plan is symmetrical — your upload speed equals your download speed — with unlimited data, no contract and free professional installation. Plan availability varies by building. Check your address to see which tiers are live at yours.
What is not on the bill
The reason the plan price is usually the whole bill is that most of what a national provider adds underneath it does not exist here:
- No installation charge. Professional installation is free on every residential tier.
- No contract and no early termination fee. Residential service is month to month.
- No data overage. Every plan is unlimited, so there is no allowance to exceed.
- No state sales tax on the service. Massachusetts does not tax internet service, so nothing is added to the $30, $60, $80, $100 or $300.
- No equipment rental unless you want one. Our handoff is a standard RJ45 Ethernet port or SFP, so a router you already own plugs straight into the wall.
The two things that do add to it
Our Wi-Fi router, $10/mo. Optional, and available on Base 300, Core 500 and Gigabit. It is an equipment rental, so that one line is taxable — see What router do we provide?. 2 Gig and 10 Gig are bring-your-own-router, so those accounts never carry the charge.
A static IP, $20/mo per address, if you need one. 10 Gig includes a /30 block rather than charging per address.
Business and enterprise
Business fiber is priced separately from residential and is listed on the business plans page. Enterprise and dedicated internet access are quoted per building rather than from a rate card, because the availability commitment is agreed contract by contract.
Working out your own number
