How do I check if fiber is available at my address?
Enter your address on bostonbroadband.com and we'll tell you on the spot whether fiber is live at your building — and put you on the priority list if it isn't.
Enter your address on bostonbroadband.com and we'll tell you whether fiber is live at your building.
- On the homepage, find Check Availability.
- Type your street address. If you're in an apartment or condo, add your unit number — availability is per building, and sometimes per unit.
- Add your ZIP code, then select Confirm Address.
- Enter your name, email, and phone so we can send the results, then select Get My Results.
We serve Boston, Brookline, and Cambridge, MA. See where we serve for the neighborhoods.
In an apartment or condo there are two separate questions, and the answer can be yes to one and no to the other.
- Is fiber in the building? We have run fiber to the address and it is live.
- Is your unit wired? The fiber has been extended into that specific unit.
A building can be lit while a particular unit is not wired yet, which is why the check asks for a unit and why a neighbor's answer does not settle yours. If your building is on our map but your unit is not, the check tells you so directly rather than just saying no — and that is a much shorter wait than a building we have not reached at all.
Which speeds you can order is also set per building, so plan availability varies from address to address.
If fiber is live at your address, you'll go straight to picking a speed — and the check also decides which install options you are offered. Where your property and unit are set up for it, a self-install kit is one of the choices and it arrives by mail. Where they are not, the option does not appear and a member of our local team reaches out to schedule a technician. See What happens when the technician comes? for both paths.
If we haven't reached your door yet, your address goes on our priority list. We build where demand is highest, so the single most useful thing you can do is get neighbors on the same street to check their addresses too.
If you need a dedicated line sooner than the build schedule allows, our engineering team can scope a custom build — write to [email protected].
